1)decorating the christmas tree. i love recalling the stories behind all the ornaments as we pull them out of the box.

another great memory would be my first christmas with the felders, it was so much fun to see how another family celebrated christmas!

2)last year we got a professional photo taken of amy, danny, megan, ben, and me for my parents. they loved it!

3)once when i was home from college i went caroling with some people at st. paul's to some of the houses of the older people at church. i'm usually not a big caroler, but this was more fun, because we knew the people and you could see how happy they were that we had come.

*by the way, thanks for your thoughts about christmas on my blog...i appreciated what you had to say!

#1. Our first Christmas in this house. We have a video some of you have seen of our first Christmas. Jeremy got his first skateboard...he loved it. Jonathan got a scooter and...his first whooopppeeee cushion...he loved it. Bryan got a dog by the name of Licorice...he loved it.
#2. The answer to #1 applies to #2. Each boy got something they
really wanted, something they enjoyed for a long time.
#3. I am thinking more of something done for us. In the past we have had a tradition of playing the Mexican Train Domino game on Christmas night. We play it all the way through from double 12's to zero. Sometimes that can take hours. Christmas 1998 was our first Christmas without Bryan. Mark Brizendine and Terry Wallen came over and stayed till 1 in the morning to play that game with us. That is something we will treasure in the deepest parts of our hearts!

1) My favorite grown up memory would be the year that our family acted out the Christmas story. It took a while but every person had a part. I'll have to get the pictures from Alisha and post them. My favorite kid's christmas memory would be going to my grandparents house and miraculously Santa would show up and spend time with us.

2) Best gift given by me to someone else would be the monkey ball set we made for Jeff last year...and that we got to play on Christmas outside because it wasn't too cold. I love gifts that are made like this, especially when it is something you know they will enjoy...it seems to mean more to both the giver and the receiver.

3) Best given thing at Christmas would be two fold. One is going caroling... to the shut ins and seeing their faces when we sing and seeing all the other people in the nursing home, who don't get visitors, smile at the site of little ones and other happy faces. ...to a nursing home (on Christmas) where Alisha had been ministering during school and visited some of the people she knew who didn't have family to spend time with them on Christmas. ...to our friends around town to deliver cookies and warm wishes. Number two...the Myers family table full of not only blood family but extended family...a couple Dana met at Hy-Vee, a family that almost delivered their first child at the house, a grandmother and grandson who struggle with each other but love each other, a new choir minister away from family and on and on. I am so grateful for a mother who doesn't feel her table is too small for anyone in need.

Hey...good to find you guys. I will take a stab at your questions.

1) Antonina & I had just gotten married. We were home for Christmas and woke up completely surprized by a full foot of fresh and unexpected snow. It was our Christmas miracle!

2) I always ask my people this question. I am not sure of my answer though. I usually think of my favorite gift I gave. This year it was a #9 Browns jersey I gave to Antonina. She is a huge browns fan, and #9 has the same last name as us (except spelled different)...now she has a Browns jersey with her name on it!

3) I think last year gathering enough gifts to send to Gloseter Mississippi to make sure each of the kids on the church's bus route got something nice was really enjoyable for me, the youth, and all the church that participated.

Well, those are my answers. I told Judy I talked about Todd a little in my sermon Sunday. I just really appreciated his Advent reflection on peace last Advent. You guys are in our prayers.
